Shasta daisy "Mayfield Giants" - Leucanthemum maximum.
A perennial plant with many branched stems 90 cm high.
Inflorescences are baskets with a double row of ligulate flowers (petals) and with a yellow center, large, 10-12 cm in diameter. Prefers sunny places and fertilized soil.
Propagated by seeds, division of rhizomes and cuttings. Seeds are sown in spring for growing seedlings or in autumn - in open ground ridges. With spring sowing and a soil temperature of +15 °C, shoots appear in 14-20 days. Seedlings bloom in the second year. Bushes are divided in the 3-4th year of cultivation in the spring and planted at a distance of 30 cm.
Looks good in group plantings on the lawn, against the background of ornamental shrubs. Excellent for cutting.
